BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT
At the Felician School our School Psychologist works closely with both students and staff to develop a behavior management system which stresses a positive approach to motivate appropriate behavior in all of our students. This approach rewards behavioral compliance and a positive work ethic. All staff members are encouraged to initiate efforts to provide adequate structure, establish class rules, reinforce appropriate behavior, and identify behavioral and academic goals.
This system creates a consistent environment that promotes a sense of security and a positive learning environment for all of our students.
Some of the strategies implemented in behavioral management system include:
- Redirection of student’s attention to an area of interest
- Maintaining flexibility to meet the needs of each student
- Offer a clear and concise explanation of why some behaviors are inappropriate
These procedures enable the students to be successful and productive.
